Meet the Trainer

Susan – Founder of Support Skills Hub

With over 30 years of experience across the disability, mental health, and aged care sectors, Susan is a passionate advocate, trainer, and changemaker in the support space. As both a seasoned professional and an NDIS participant, she brings a rare combination of lived experience and industry expertise to everything she creates.

Susan has worked on the ground as a support worker, in leadership roles across community services, and for the past 20 years as a trainer across diverse settings, corporate, community-based, and online translating complex concepts into practical, easy-to-apply knowledge for support workers and participants alike. Her strength lies in breaking down the overwhelming into the understandable and empowering others to take confident, informed action.

Susan’s lived experience deepens her connection with the community she serves. She understands first-hand how impactful empathetic, tailored support can be for both the participant and the support worker. This insight fuels her mission to create practical, empowering resources that help others succeed in their roles. A lifelong learner herself, Susan is dedicated to staying up to date with NDIS practices and innovations.

She created Support Skills Hub as a trusted learning space for NDIS self-managing participants and independent support workers who want to grow their skills and navigate the system with clarity. Susan’s focus is always on real-world application: ethical, respectful, and person-centred care that works in practice not just on paper. Through Support Skills Hub, she inspires others to keep learning, adapting, and delivering compassionate, effective care in an ever-evolving industry.

Behind the scenes, Susan is supported by a diverse team of skilled professionals with experience in clinical mental health, complex disability, aged care, and administrative systems. Together, they bring depth, credibility, and a shared passion for building a stronger, more informed support community.

Whether you're new to support work or managing your own plan, Susan and the Support Skills Hub team are here to

walk beside you with practical tools, guidance, and a belief in your ability to thrive.
